      "text": "Abstract. — The genus Pilumnoides Lucas, known by four american species, P. perlatus (Poep- pig) the type species, P. hassleri A. Milne Edwards, P. nudifrons (Stimpson) and P. rotundus Garth, is revised. P. perlatus, which inhabits the Pacific coast from Panama to Chile, now is one instance of the Crustaceans dispersed and accidentally introduced by Man in a place different from the original country : in one hand in South Africa, in the other hand in England. The comparative study of the materials reported from various localities and of new collections exhibits that in no case the occurence of this species will be — in our hypothesis — due to an accidental transportation by derelict ships or moored in dry-dock after a voyage in South America: on the South-West African coast lives P. rubus sp. nov.; on the South coast of England probably another native species lives there, with a very spe- cial ecology, P. inglei sp. nov. Two new other species are described P. monodi sp. nov., from Gabon and P. coelhai sp nov from the Abrolhos Islands A key of the eight species of Pilum.",

      "text": "Résumé. — Le genre Pilumnoides Lucas, connu par quatre espèces américaines, P. perlatus (Poeppig) l'espèce type, P. hassleri A. Milne Edwards, P. nudifrons (Stimpson) et P. rotundus Garth, est révisé. P. perlatus, qui vit sur la côte pacifique du Panama jusqu'au Chili, est actuellement consi- déré comme un exemple de Crustacé dispersé puis introduit accidentellement par l'Homme en des lieux éloignés de sa patrie d'origine, en l'occurence d'une part en Afrique du Sud, d'autre part en Angle- terre. L'examen comparatif de matériel de diverses provenances et de récoltes nouvelles indique qu'il ne s'agirait — si notre hypothèse est juste — dans aucun des cas, d'un transport accidentel par des navires venus d'Amérique du Sud puis abandonnés près de la côte ou dans les ports : sur la côte sud- ouest-africaine habite l'espèce P. rubus sp. nov.; la côte anglaise méridionale abrite une espèce native de cette région, au biotope sans doute très particulier, P. inglei sp. nov. Deux autres espèces nouvelles sont décrites : P. monodi sp. nov., du Gabon, et P. coelhoi sp. nov., des îles Abrolhos. Une clef des huit espèces de Pilumnoides est donnée et la position taxonomique du genre est étudiée. Une sous- famille particulière, Pilumnoidinae subfam. nov., est créée.",
