"text": "Allegedly manipulating internal systems to cover up their tracks to make it appear that no local specialists are available\nA: “Another thing that really disturbed me and was absolutely insane and blew my mind was how they assign people. Management was manipulating the system to pick and choose who was having to work...stuff like that was happening pretty regularly. But they kind of fucked up one day, and they didn’t realize it, I think, because they had taken everybody off the board. So, logistics was like, there’s nobody in Seattle to do this case - I don’t think it was Seattle to Seattle, but I think it was Tacoma to Seattle. And so, they flew someone in from LA to do the case. And then management was like, “Why are you there?” And she’s like, “You tell me.”\nQ: “You’re saying that they were supposed to pick people based on who’s on call?”\nA: “Yeah. It’s supposed to be based on what organ you do, and if you’re next up in the algorithm. And you have this certification; they can see the certifications - essentially, that’s how it was supposed to work. They’re manipulating the system to be like, we just want these people to work basically, so they were taking those certifications off of people. And that makes it look like they’re not on call, so it makes it look like there are less people able to work in this region.”\nQ: “You’re saying they were manipulating the system to make it seem like no one was available locally so they could fly in somebody.”\nA: “I just know that it looks like there was no one available here and then someone else had to fly here.”\nQ: “I see. So, they were making it seem like there was nobody available locally.”\nA: “They would have me, who is only doing liver, and then you have three other people who do liver and heart. So, they were manipulating it by taking the liver certifications from everyone else and only leaving me. And then I think they forgot that they were doing this, because then it would come to the point where if I was off or I was busy and they were like, “We have no one else to do liver now.” And then all of a sudden, they would sometimes find someone else and bring their certification back.” - Former TransMedics OCS specialist",
