The surgeon participated in TransMedics studies and interacts with management, offering an “inside baseball” view of the centers/investigators now conducting competing trials and stated that LifePort’s Liver Transporter is a critical threat, given its kidney device has a lock with 90% share, surgeon excitement for its liver data, and TransMedics alienation of surgeons: “the real competition based on everything I know of the Columbia Presbyterian data...is LifePort...centers I think are really good...are on board with the LifePort study...TransMedics did this hard sell, push down your throat approach to the surgical community...a lot of people they pissed off...people who would say I’m using LifePort because it’s not TransMedics; “we have no loyalty whatsoever to TransMedics...they are at real risk...LifePort is going to be very, very competitive and may exceed the interest level” for TransMedics.",
