Just for completeness, I just wanted to make sure you know that Paragonix does have a growing business in lung.” Q: “But the main takeaway is their lung business is gone.” A: “At least in the U.S., lung is only going to be 100 cases a year at best, is my guess.”",

My guess would be without having actual proof, but based on everybody that I know in the field, my guess would be that you’d see that their peak year for lung usage was in 2022, it plummeted in 2023 and 2024. "text": "They initially got traction in lung. I think their peak year - and this is again where the company’s dishonest. They won’t tell you, but I can tell you what they did. In 2022, post-FDA approval, to gin up interest, they had a deal, which they did with liver, too, I believe. They would not charge the transplant center if the organ was rejected while it was on the device. You only paid for lungs that were used. And then when 2022 ended, in calendar year 2023, you paid whether you took the organ or not. And a lot of transplant centers got really pissed with that. In fact, that’s the reason why there was a lot of enthusiasm in 2022, which I believe was their peak year for lung usage in the U.S. It plummeted for two reasons. One, you now had to pay for an organ whether you used it or not. Two, enthusiasm for XVIVO’s device with Lung Bioengineering. Number three, which really put the nail on the coffin, was the 10-degree Celsius storage story.",
