      "text": "The surgeon stated he was kept completely in the dark, and that in cases where he concluded the organ was defective or otherwise not appropriate for transplant, that he doubted that TransMedics communicated his professional judgement as the procuring surgeon to the recipient center – “I don’t think so. In our field, if a receiving surgeon hears that the recovery surgeon said I don’t think the organ should go, it’s very unlikely it will go...very unlikely.” He added that he wasn’t even told if the organs he procured were transplanted or not – particularly the ones he thought were unsuitable – and that no information was ever shared about outcomes after transplant, a complete circumvention of a typical organ procurement process: “I don’t even know if that organ ended up transplant...I don’t even know if it did well afterwards or not...we’re not in communication with transplant centers...they don’t even tell us...we don’t know...we simply don’t know.”",
