      "text": "The three labeled criteria for use, which most DCD’s livers fail to meet, are 1) the DCD donor is ≤55 years old; 2) ≤30 minutes of warm ischemic time; 3) ≤15% macrosteatotis. The age indication is self-explanatory. The older the donor, the more compromised and high-risk the liver. The average donor age in the pivotal PROTECT trial for OCS Liver was 45.9 years, well below the labeled age, as the trial cherrypicked the best donors to manipulate the outcomes on the pump. However, one high-volume TransMedics center after another told us that most of their device use is for liver donors well over 55 – into their 60’s and older. One such “super user” alleged that Houston Methodist, who we think is one of top two users, is “in the business of transplanting people with 70-year-old livers.”",
