      "text": "Our interviews with Utah and other high-volume centers were striking, as they detailed participation in what sounds to us like an overt organ trafficking racket while at the same time acknowledging that “it’s definitely improper” – an illustration of the conflicted, corrupt cesspool that the current organ transplant system has become and why various national/state agencies and authorities are preparing to crack down. The center we quoted two pages ago, for example, admitted to boosting its volumes with questionable organs shopped to it by TransMedics – “we are well known for our aggressive use of organs” - while at the same time slamming the practice: “there’s a lot of gray area when it comes to how late declines are handled...that has certainly happened to me where I’ve been inappropriately skipped...that’s against regulations...that’s unethical...you can’t skip me without telling me...these things happen...”",
