      "text": "Q: “PWS is a very small world. People are going to compare notes very rapidly as this rolls out. Among the people that really treat the big volumes of PWS patients, do they think this is a blockbuster? Are they cynical? How would you categorize the mood?” A: “I think cynical, in general, just because again, but really struggling because it is the only FDA-approved drug. The families are definitely excited. I’ve talked to several physicians who have written prescriptions. None of them have gotten approved yet. Like they said, I’m not really sure how that part’s going to work. They were throwing out a couple of test cases to see. But there’s definitely, from what I gather, at least three of the people that are endos, who see a lot of people with PWS, have all said the same thing: Well, if somebody is pre-diabetic or really overweight or fill in the blank, I’m going to treat that really aggressively with x, y, and z. And then I might consider after HbA1c is in the normal to pre-diabetic range, considering that treatment. But then the blood sugar monitoring, constant blood draws; it’s going to require a lot of follow-up. And so, what they were saying, it’s not one you can go, hey, here you go. And good luck to you. It’s going to require a lot of follow-up, and what they’re concerned about, and they’ve just said this, is they’re worried that mom-and-pop PCP’s and don’t know a ton about this are going to be prescribing it without maybe some of the safeguards in place that they’re going to be doing. I think for the people who see them...not everybody can be in a trial, like you said, between the inclusion and exclusion criteria and this idea that they’re going to require a fair amount of follow-up every time they increase the dose, they’re going to have to be drawing blood and making sure people are coming back because they’re going to have to follow them to make sure that everything is being monitored.” – KOL in the PWS field; involved with Soleno’s clinical program",
