      "text": "Moreover, if one wanted to produce a diazoxide salt for improved solubility, choline is a poor option (Vykat XR = diazoxide choline) – only chosen, we suspect, because superior salts of diazoxide were patented and unavailable. Soleno claims that diazoxide choline salt is “more soluble” but with no comparator - more soluble than what? If increasing solubility would improve formulation it would make sense to use the Na salt form which is 25-50-fold more soluble than diazoxide choline. This form is only used for IV injection - why? Because the base form, Proglycem is hard to improve upon. Salt forms of a drug are usually made to increase absorption but since the non-salt form is completely absorbed (90-100% bioavailable), Soleno had no reason to create a salt form except to obtain a patent.",
