As far as we can tell, Soleno’s Neal Cowen – via a predecessor entity called Essentialis, Inc. – scrounged for two decades to turn his patent from lead into gold, flinging it at every indication under the sun and failing, until at long last winning a PWS indication from the FDA – a pyrrhic victory, as the patent now only has a year left. The FDA Orange Book lists five applicable patents applicable. The core 7572789 patent has an expiration date of Dec. 20, 2026.",
