      "text": "半導体製造装置業界を含めて、半導体業界は最も資本集約的な業界のひとつだ。これについてもレーザーテックは異色の会社といえる。研究開発費も少なければ、設備投資はさらに少ない。同社は「ファブライト（Fab lite）」という自負がある。「ファブライト」とは、経営方針として半導体装置の設計に専念し、製造を外部に委託する会社を指す。しかし、レーザーテックは半導体装置でなく半導体製造装置を作る会社なので、その表現は適切ではない。むしろ、施設、設備、技術、知的財産に対しての投資が少ない、小規模な組立屋。それを正当化しようとして「ファブライト」を自称する。レーザーテックが多額の設備投資を計上したのは2023年6月期の1年のみ。その会計年度に1億2000万ドルの不動産投資を行った。横浜市に「レーザーテック・イノベーション・パーク」という研究開発施設を開設するための投資だった。当該投資案件が詐欺であることは後に述べる。比較して、2010年～2023年の13年間におけるレーザーテックの累積設備投資はたかだか4500万ドルに留まっている。年間100万ドルに満たない年も数回あった。かつこの累積金額さえ、レーザーテック製のACTIS装置1台の価格（4000万～6000万ドル）より少ないのだ。同じ5年間を見ると、半導体製造装置の分野における世界上位5社の累積設備投資は次の通りだ：ASML 68億ドル、アプライド マテリアルズ34億ドル、ラムリサーチ19億ドル、東京エレクトロン19億ドル、KLA 12億ドル。これらの投資額に鑑みると、レーザーテックの設備投資額はいかにも不条理な額に思える。",
