"text": "We've seen strong evidence that WFG agents are heavily encouraged to buy policies for themselves as well as sell policies to members of their downlines. This was consistent with our experience with a WFG recruiter, who suggested that if we were to join WFG, \"We of course, not only offer our products, but our biggest product is this business opportunity here. And of course, if you take advantage of the business opportunity, the first thing you want to do is put the mask on yourself. And take advantage of the products that we have to offer.\" We are concerned this could lead to a scenario where a large portion of an agent's sales are made either to themselves or to newly recruited members of their downline. We've even uncovered multiple FTC complaints via FOIA requests that have been submitted by former WFG recruits who detail how they were pressured to buy a policy from WFG.",

"text": "WFG's organization associates with aggressive agents with questionable backgrounds. For example, Guillermo Haro represents himself as a Senior Executive Vice Chairman (\"SEVC\") of WFG on social media channels. Inquiries into his website also lead to WFG referrals and he has recent appearances at live events while senior WFG leaders were in attendance. Guillermo Haro has prior charges of violating antifraud laws and is barred by the SEC from associating with any firm involved in securities sales. Guillermo's online presence suggests his ongoing affiliation with WFG, despite his background. Two of Guillermo's co-defendants in his securities fraud case also continued to work with Transamerica for several years after the case, only leaving in recent months. Considering the ease of which this information is found, it is very surprising that Transamerica and World Financial Group are either not vetting the backgrounds of their agents or are willing to look beyond past questionable conduct, especially considering the sensitive nature of the insurance industry.",

In fact, we believe documents we've reviewed show that World System Builder, the organization that sells many of these reading materials, is controlled by Xuan Nguyen, one of the senior most members of WFG. This leads us to believe that at least one senior WFG leader may use the WFG recruitment engine for self-enrichment.",
