      "text": "While inflation generally moved lower in 2023, the pace of disinflation, the starting level of inflation and its endpoint varied significantly across countries.\nCEE countries exhibited the highest inflation rates at the start of 2023, and while they also showed the fastest pace of disinflation, price growth rates remained elevated at the end of 2023.\nOn the other hand, inflation in December 2023 was lowest (below 1%) in Denmark, Netherlands, Belgium and Italy, where energy price spikes were highest and therefore price reversal is the strongest.\nInflation developments in the largest euro area countries, Germany and France, are broadly aligned with the euro area average.",
