Meanwhile, the view that individuals themselves should be primarily responsible is notably more widespread in the Anglosphere. Approximately three in ten hold this view in the US, Australia (both 31%), Ireland (29%), Great Britain (28%) and Canada (27%) compared with a 29-country average of 21%.
