Or, perhaps you see it as pitting the natural order vs. tampering? The truth is that most food we eat now is modified by science in some way, whether that’s processing, synthesizing or genetically modifying. But whatever you believe — and wherever you get the information on which you base that belief — will cause you to fall on one side or the other of this divide. These opinions will have very real consequences for how and how well we are able to feed humanity moving forward, especially during the accelerating climate crisis. One area which could be a model is gut health, where science is driving consumer interest, which is driving adoption. “These scientific advancements are now feeding into consumer understanding, which has led to more consumers actively seeking health and wellbeing solutions in food and refreshment products,” says Unilever’s Simone Pyle.",
