      "text": "June 2020. Some interviewees noted that more distributed working is yielding benefits for society, in terms of reduced congestion. The crisis now looks set to have a lasting impact on businesses and employees around the world. A US census study found that 34% of surveyed workers expect to never return to daily commute, while a Deloitte study of the financial sector shows that 77% of people surveyed expect to work from home office regularly after the pandemic. This shift isn't inevitable. In a Deloitte survey of almost 4,000 European consumers in May and June 2020, opinion was divided on whether working from home is a good thing - 33% of respondents said it is easier to work from home, while 34% said it is harder. Whether workers do want to return to the office en-masse may be governed by a herd mentality. Further, it is becoming clear that some manual work can be done digitally and even remotely. For example, fully automated production lines within the automotive industry are now being monitored and calibrated by human workers via tablets and computers with no need for a physical presence.",
