      "text": "Assuming labor market entry at the age of 22 in 2020, the average normal retirement age among OECD countries is expected to rise from 64.2 to 66.1 years for male and from 63.4 to 65.5 years for female. This projection reflects the global tendency of linking the retirement age to key demographic indicators (e.g. life expectancy) more strongly. In many countries, the shrinking workforce amid population aging is expected to aggravate fiscal pressures on future pension systems. However, as the future retirement age projected by the OECD is a forecast based on demographic trends, these numbers differ from the legislated increase in retirement ages of national pension reforms. Currently, gender differences in the normal retirement age exist in nine OECD countries but these will be mostly phased out after 2050 apart from very few countries (e.g. Switzerland, Poland, Israel). Pension reforms can cause severe opposition or even social unrest. For example, the adoption of France's recent reforms led to widespread demonstrations and violent protests. The difficulty to reach a social consensus may act as a challenge for countries considering retirement reforms",
