The majority of new entrants (including returnees) were in the Consumer Discretionary / Staples, Industrials and Technology sectors. Six of the 13 new entrants were US companies. Four US companies departed from the Global Top 100 as at March 2021 resulting in a net increase of two US companies. Outside of the US, there were new entrants from all other regions. NTT DOCOMO was acquired by Nippon Telegraph in 2020 resulting in a delisting from the Tokyo Stock Exchange. Nippon Telegraph divested part of its business in the year to March 2021 contributing to its departure from the list. The survivors increase of $9.5tn represents the combined increase in market capitalisation of the companies that retained a position in both reported years. The top five companies on the list account for a combined increase of $3.0tn.",
