Two in ten (22%) investors sold at least some of their investments during the pandemic (half of whom sold 20% or less of their total portfolio) and were motivated by three primary reasons: to pay for expenses (29%), minimize losses (21%), and to realize profits (17%). Four in ten (40%) Canadian investors bought investments during the pandemic (most bought 20% or less of their portfolio). The majority (70%) of which were reacting to the market, as opposed to sticking to their regular contribution patterns (30%), motivated primarily by a belief that assets were undervalued (28%).",
