Sixty-seven percent of respondents cited that they either have or plan to hire HEOR/payer liaisons, the highest among all other roles assessed. The need for liaisons with specialized knowledge of healthcare reimbursement and real-world evidence is on the rise due to the evolving healthcare landscape. This is evidenced by the increased MSL-to-HEOR ratio in 2018, growing from 5:1 in 2016 to 4:1 in 2018; additionally, we also saw an increase in HEOR and payer MSL team sizes, up 19% from 2016 to 2018, according to PharmaForce 2016 and 2018 reports.",
