A clearly defined, realistic and understood position will imbue stakeholders with confidence and purpose, and help measure the impact of decisions. It also avoids change for change's sake. For example, some bio-based materials from renewable sources bring a much larger carbon footprint than standard plastics due to the way they're produced.
