Smartphones are increasingly resilient from both hardware and software perspectives. Smartphone vendors are providing operating system (OS) and security updates for a longer period of time, extending the useful lifetime of devices. Smartphone lifetime can also lengthen as the most common used applications, browsing, social networks and games, are changing minimally year on year, reducing the need to upgrade so as to get access to more powerful processors.",
