Leaders realized a cumulative net impact (revenue minus cost) of 10.3% of revenue – the third highest among all industries (see Figure 11). The average boost to the bottom line for each manufacturer is just over $7.6 million, based on the average revenue of our respondents. Ironically, for manufacturers, one of the advantages of being behind is the large dividend to be garnered from moving ahead.",
