To be effective and build trust, leaders need to show up and lead differently, including by challenging old mindsets in order to learn new things (see Figure 8 on the next page). These capabilities aren’t entirely new, but leaders need to approach them in new ways to guide their organizations into the gen AI-enabled future. It’s a future where capabilities like digital fluency, enterprise-wide governance, cross-function collaboration, ecosystem partnership, human-centered change management and people leadership all take on greater urgency. Systems thinking—to understand and shape industry, regulatory and societal impacts—is also paramount.",
