The London company uses bots to trade cryptocurrencies automatically. It uses triggers following \"if this;; then that\" rules;; allowing users to cash in on market volatilities while they sleep. Users can set up their own triggers or use built-in templates.  Founded in 2018;; the company completed the Y Combinator accelerator this year and has now closed its first funding round.  The idea for Coinrule first came about because cofounder and CEO Gabriele Musella wanted find an automated trading script but couldn't — so he decided to build an automated trading platform himself.   He sees 3Commas and Cryptohopper as Coinrule's biggest competitors and believes the no-code platform is \"very good\" at catering to everyone;; including beginners;; he said.  The fintech investor Urban Innovation Fund wrote Coinrule the biggest check. Angels include Fitbit founder James Park and Twitch founder Kevin Lin.  Coinrule is one of a growing number of European firms to make it into Y Combinator;; which ran remotely this year.  \"It was a great three months;;\" Musella said;; adding that it wasn't \"as cool\" as being there in the flesh. Musella dialed in from offices in London;; and his days were filled with workshops;; including talks from external founders such as Brian Chesky of Airbnb.  \"It was really like learning firsthand from people that have multibillion-dollar companies;;\" Musella said. \"What I realized;; when they were as big as us;; there were the exact same problems. They made us really confident that we are not too far from what good looks like in terms of a startup.\"  A key problem the startup faced was attracting talent.  \"YC helps us with recruitment because all of a sudden we are cool;;\" Musella said;; adding that startup increased its salary offering and restructured its hiring process.  The Coinrule team also learned how \"not to spend too much;;\" he added.  Musella described an element of \"vanity\" among participating startups;; with peers asking each other how big their teams were and how much they had raised.   \"A big raise doesn't mean the company is successful;;\" Musella said. \"You still need to have a good product-market fit;; and that's the key for actually building a good company. That really is in the DNA of Y Combinator;; and that's what they told us a lot.\"  The community-building aspects of the program were replaced with scheduled chats;; where every two days;; founders connected with each other over a virtual coffee.  Y Combinator;; like many accelerators;; takes a percentage of its cohort firms in exchange for funding and advice.
